Saurav Ghosal became the first Indian player to claim a place in the world’s top 20 when he rose to a World No.16 PSA ranking, in February 2013. His highest world ranking has been 15, as of December 2013. He became the first Indian ever to reach the quarter-finals at the World Championship in 2013, narrowly losing out to Ramy Ashour.
